Well this was at the Whitemarsh Little League park, but it was still a good time. Roman had 2 games this weekend and I took some photos at the first game and then I took some video at the second. Roman has been pitching a little and he keeps getting better at bat as well. I am really proud of him. Soon basketball will start since it will be too cold to play baseball. Then we will look forward to spring and summer. I will post some photos and videos of Pauline. Jeannette post her stuff to facebook, but I try to post on here but with every thing going on, it is tuff.
Roman is usually the lead off runner. At this time at bat he fouled one out to the left and then he struck out. I think it was pretty high and was a ball, but the ump was having a bad day. I think he got hit like 3 or 4 times.
I shot these with the Droid Bionic, cool phone, but why cant I upload videos over 4G yet! Geez!
This one is zoomed in a bit and you can tell from the video quality.
I did not get the other strikes, but this was the last 2 and that was the third out.
Now Roman is on the other end and he fouls one out pretty good, but then he is walked.
I was mowing the lawn and saw this pin wheel spinning 100 mph. It looks cool on the video. The wind helped me clear the leaves as well. I just ran them over with the lawn mower and they disappeared and the rest blew away into the brush next to the house. The green stuff you can see in this video. Too bad we are moving in a few weeks. This is a nice location.
Check out all these people watching the LLWS game between the team from PA and the team representing the West. Unfortunately the West won, but they also went on to beat Japan for the championship.
I would have tried to upload this and post this after the game, but we were just a bit outside the coverage area of any carrier. There was 3G in Williamsport, but we were actually camping about 50 miles north. Closest town was Forksville, PA. Yup! The funny thing was that this guy running the Forksville General Store was named Big Mike and he was from South Philly! LOL.
If you are ever in Toronto, make sure you go to Centre Island. Also, make sure you go during the day. I guess they do not have lights on the island or something cuz everything closes early! The ride was nice, but it would have been nicer if we were able to see more of the island and maybe ride some rides. There were some people left on the island, but they were mostly teems and young adults who were making out in the dark. #FAIL
Not really a fail, but could have been more fun. Not really sure why the video is crooked. I was resting my camera on the rail of the ferry. We were on the upper level. If my camera would have fallen, it would have been bad, but it would not have fallen in the water, just to the lower level.
We really enjoyed the Canadian side of the falls. We would like to visit again. There is tons of stuff we did not get to do. We will brush up on our french and go back, oui?
Well actually our first stop was at Mac’s Drive in Waterloo, NY. We were not really in the mood for an overpriced hamburger from Roy Rogers or Burger King at a service plaza along the turnpike. At last count we went thru 9 or 10 toll booths. That does not include the border crossing. The agent actually asked me if I had any guns since I was originally from Texas. I told him, the only weapons I had were my biceps, but I could not leave those at home! Just kidding I actually just told him I left my guns at home. I did not need them, I was on vacation.
Once we got to the Canadian side, we checked into the hotel and got settled in. We walked down to the falls and decided to take the Maid of the Mist tour. I took this video with my iphone. I did not remember to buy a waterproof case for my iphone or even bring a zip lock. So I just put my iphone under the poncho they give you. That is why everything is little blue. Disclaimer: if you get sick easily, do not watch this video, you will get dizzy and maybe throw up. LOL!
It has been a long time since I posted anything to the family blog. I guess we have been too busy. Here is a recent video from us just hanging out at home. We have tons of pics from this summer, but Jeannette has been posting them to facebook. Check her out at facebook.
In the meantime check out our videos or check us out on facebook. I do not post much there, but I have posted some new stuff on my blog. Thanks for keeping up with us. I am gonna do some wordpress updates and try to add some recent photos.
Funny that the last post was about snow since the last few days have been over 100F here in KOP. Yikes!
So it has been a while since I posted something to the Medina Blog. How appropriate that the last entry is about the Chili Cook Off. I could use some right about now.
Here is a quick video I took this morning before I headed out to drop off the kids. I probably should have stayed home, but there were a ton of people out there as well.
This weekend we took a little drive up 95, then 81, then 84, then 93, or something like that. Either way, we ended up in Manchester, New Hampshire for the 2010 International Chili Society Chili Cook off. There were chilis from around the world. I did not try that many of them. So my stomach was thankful for that! We do not make it a habit of driving 6 hours to go to a chili cook off. We actually knew one of the contestants. Jeannette’s cousin Alicia and her husband David were competing in it. They drove all the way from Nampa, Idaho to compete. It was pretty cool to see them slaving away making chili! hehe! It was even more incredible when they won 1st place in the People’s Choice category. Everyone was lining up to taste theirs. Chili cook off rules a little wierd to me. For instance, the chili that is judged cannot have beans in it. I guess the judges do not want to be playing some body music later!
The whole weekend was pretty fun. We got kicked out of a Dunkin Donuts, we saw a bunch of fire trucks, Roman and Pauline climbed a wall, and we made some bubbles, Roman took a picture with Miss New Hampshire…All in all, it was a full weekend.
Today was Pauline’s first day of all day kindergarten. I was gonna drive her to school, but she wanted to go on the bus. Come to think of it I never took the bus to school. I always walked or drove, mostly walked. I hope she has a good day. She was looking forward to going back to MDP. It is the Catholic school at our church. I am not sure if she realized it was all day, or what all day means. I hope she likes riding the bus. The bus driver did not seem as nice as Roman’s bus driver…
